Practice is a very important part of the interview and the job-seeking process. A mock interview is a great way for students at Auburn University to become familiar with interview questions and interview etiquette. COVID-19 has not only changed the typical format of preparing and starting a career for all students, but it has also changed the typical format and procedures employers take to hire new employees. Participating in a virtual and in-person mock interview is a way to give students a real-world interview experience guided by professionals actively working in a variety of hands-on business roles. By the end of this Mock Interview Day, students will be more confident in interviewing in any format.
The University Career Center will host two Virtual Mock Interview Day(s) on Tuesday, September 7th and Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 from 8:30am-4:00pm for all currently enrolled students at Auburn University. For Mock Interview Day, industry recruiters and employers are invited to provide practice interviews for students. Students will be paired to interview with an individual that works with or recruits for their specific major.
Each interview will last approximately 30 minutes which includes feedback from the interviewer on what was done well and what could be improved. Mock Interviews will be a way for students to practice; however, the interview will be much more than “JUST PRACTICE”.
Students can use the Interview Tip Sheet and visit the Campus Career Closet to prepare and be able to present themselves in the same way they would for a “REAL” interview. https://aub.ie/mockinterview
