Resource 101-Auburn Medical Clinic

This week's Resource 101 features the Medical Clinic. The Medical Clinic's mission is to provide high-quality, efficient, and convenient health care with compassion, dedication, and professionalism.
AUMC provides medical services on a fee-for-service basis, meaning students pay for medical services only when they use them. East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC), located only 15 minutes away from the campus, has partnered with AUMC to provide professional medical services and management. EAMC is a 352-bed, acute care regional referral center with more than 140 physicians on its medical staff and more than 2,500 employees.
More than 75 percent of the University's students are covered on their parents' medical plans or have other medical insurance. The Medical Clinic has contracts with most of the major insurance companies and will file insurance claims as a courtesy to patients. For those who have high deductible plans or restrictive HMO coverage, the Student Government Association has a Student Health Insurance policy to meet the basic medical needs. It includes coverage for office visits to AUMC with the payment of a co-pay. The Medical Clinic will also work with those patients who are uninsured to provide medical services by setting up appropriate payment plans and options.
Also housed in the Medical Clinic facility are Student Counseling Services, the Student Pharmacy operated by the Harrison School of Pharmacy, Women's Health provided by Lee OB/GYN, the Miller Clinic providing chiropractic care, and a professional Massage Therapy center.
