An Excellent Value

Participants in Harbert’s Programs pay program fees, not tuition. The cost of the program is $14,900 for the entire summer semester. For out-of-state students, it is actually less expensive to go to Europe, take all five classes, live on the economy, and earn an official Business Minor than to take these same classes on campus at Auburn without Italy and Spain. For in-state students it a good value. Most scholarships may be applied toward the program fee.

Whether it is a study abroad with Harbert or any program or taking classes and engaging international activities while at Auburn, we hope you will encourage your student to begin to “think globally.” After all, that is their future.

Business Minor in Europe (May to August 2022 – Includes both Rome and Madrid).

The Harbert College of Business is pleased to announce a Business Minor study abroad that is open to all majors in every college. There is also an Honors version of this program. Coming back from our Covid hiatus, students will take all five required classes for a Minor in Business in one summer abroad. The first half of the program will be presented in Rome, Italy for six weeks. This is followed by a week break in Madrid. This is the time to recharge the batteries and for parents to come over to check on their student’s progress. The remaining courses will be completed in Madrid, Spain. Courses are delivered in three-week blocks, one class at a time, three hours each day. Overall, students will be in Europe for 12 weeks. Harbert has successfully provided study abroad programs for 25 years. Award-winning Harbert Business professors will teach the courses and will be on the ground the entire summer with your student. We maintain a student-to-faculty/staff ratio of 20 to 1 or less. Most importantly, the health and safety of your student are non-negotiable. We will only deliver programs that are safe for everyone concerned.

Why is a Business Minor Helpful to Non-Business Majors?

Every person engages in business, regardless of college major. Graduates exchange their knowledge and skills for a salary in a business setting. All businesses and governments, use basic business principles in their operations. The foundation courses in this Business Minor are used by these entities. Understanding Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing, and International Business will help your student better understand and prosper in the organizations that hire them. Further, in today’s world, all business is global. For graduates to become competitive, it is important for all students to have a basic understanding of different cultures, particularly business cultures.
