Meal Swipe Options

Posted over 2 years ago  in Parent & Family News.

Does your student have several meal swipes left to use before the end of the semester? As a reminder, meal swipes DO NOT roll over each semester.

Here are some not-so-typical ways for your student to use up their meal swipes before winter break.

  1. Get a to-go meal from a dining hall.
    1. Some students like to plan their meals, and when schedules get tight, to-go is a great option! Students have the option of using a meal swipe to receive a to-go box that they can fill with any options in the dining hall. Students are not able to eat from their to-go box in the dining hall – they must fill their box and go. This is a great option for students to grab a healthy meal to eat on the go or save for later in the day!
    2. Other students have favorite foods. In this case, if the dining hall is serving their favorite food, they can eat a meal in the dining hall, then exit the dining hall and re-enter, using another swipe for a to-go box. This will allow them to take their favorite foods back to their room and refrigerate for later.
  2. Encourage your student to try out some dining hall hacks! Students can get together with some friends and try mixing and matching foods from different stations at the dining hall. They can see who has the most chef talent in their group! Be sure to check out the reel about making an ice cream sandwich in the dining hall on Tiger Dining’s Instagram!
  3. Order a To-Go pizza from Tiger Zone.
    1. Students can use one meal swipe per day to order a Tiger Zone To Go pizza via GrubHub and pick it up at the Village Tiger Zone. The pizzas available for purchase with a meal swipe are full-size cheese or pepperoni pizzas. These are great for study sessions; students can ask their study partners to bring their favorite pizza toppings and get creative! No one should ever study on an empty stomach!
