When do students need to check out of their residence hall?
Students are encouraged to check out within 24 hours of their last exam.
Where do students go to check out of the residence hall?
When students are ready to check out, they should visit their area office to return their keys. Specific details on area offices can be found below:
- The Area Office for the Village is located in Aubie Hall
- The Area Office for the Quad is located in Broun Hall
- The Area Office for the Hill is located in Sasnett Hall
- Students living in the following residence halls will check out at their front desk:

Please note, once a student has checked out and returned their key, they will no longer have access to their building.
How can students discard unwanted items?
There will be designated locations in each area to donate unwanted items to Habitat for Humanity and unwanted food to Campus Kitchens.
Is there anything else my student should know before moving out of a residence hall?
Students can consult with their resident assistant for more detailed questions about the checkout process. All checkout information will be posted on the University Housing website under closing information later this month.
