Understanding how grades are reported at Auburn can help you support your student throughout the semester.  We've got the answers to some common questions listed below:

When are final grades posted?

Final grades are typically posted the Monday after finals week wraps up. Specific details can be found here.

When are midterm grades posted?

Midterm grades usually become available around the 36th day of class or sooner. Keep in mind, midterm grades are posted for all core courses, while submission for upper-level classes is optional. Check the academic calendar for the exact date.

What is Academic Warning?

If your student’s cumulative grade point average at Auburn drops below a 2.0, they’ll be placed on Academic Warning. It’s a signal that some extra support or adjustments might be needed. You can learn more about Academic Warning, Suspension, and Appeals here.

How is Grade Point Average Calculated?

Auburn does not implement plus/minus grading, such as A- or B+, which makes GPA calculations straightforward. You can learn about how GPA is calculated here.

What is a W grade?

If a student withdraws from a class after the 15th day of class but before the official withdrawal deadline, they’ll receive a “W” on their transcript. It doesn’t affect their GPA, but there are many things to consider before withdrawing from a course.
